Well, here I sit- in a campsite out in the woods somewhere in Iowa. The kids are off swimming and Pastor Anne and I are sitting at a picnic table with both laptops open. Go figure-we even have Wi-fi…
Last week we began the new series “Help”. Remember, we talked about the “Tide of Emotion”? It’s a fact that there are a lot of people who are at a place in their lives that if they don’t get some of it… “Help”, they are going to be in trouble. It might be in their finances, their marriage’s, or something with their kids and it’s taking them to the brink.
John Lennon said it;
"When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors."
Lennon didn’t know where to turn, but we do. So as we explore this series I pray that even in your point of need you let God in. Let Him be your “Help” in your time of need…see you this weekend…
Yes I’ll be there, two nights of camping is enough for all of us…
Love ya…

Looks like you are addressing some real-life issues. I appreciate your dedication to giving your congregation a "handle" to their dilemmas. It seems that we all need something to hang on to when all seems lost or futile. I commend you on your efforts to stay connected to this multi-media generation.
I've been watching the news here lately and see that there's quite a bit of controversy about the Iowa atheist organization's advertisement that displayed on the DART bus. I had no idea that there was such an org in Iowa! However, I have seen a couple of Cornerstone Family Church advertisements displayed on DART buses too..and no controversy followed that whatsoever. Praise God! That wasn't even mentioned on TV as a retaliation response from the atheist group. DART is considering re-posting the atheist adds though. I guess this whole thing just reassures me that Iowans really do have a love for God and His principal's. Amen to that!!!
Pastor, thanks for starting the HELP series. I certainly need it like never before. There are times that I feel very HELP-Less, but I recognize it is just a feeling. It is helpful to be reminded that my emotions are a part of my total being and there's nothing wrong in acknowledging how I feel...God already knows. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's message...
